LSFC – Tabletop Gaming Staff.

Monitor/Attendant to the Board Games room for the duration of the convention. This will involve an estimated 15 hours of work during the event in shift increments of 2.5 hours

Key Duties:

  • Maintain records of games checked out/ensure good condition when checked back in
  • Coordinate with attendees who may want to combine tables or reserve space for a group
  • Ensure tidiness and order within game room

Essential Qualifications:

  • Organization/time management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior convention work experience in a gaming/board gaming environment

Anthro Outreach – Comptroller

Anthro Outreach LLC is seeking a skilled and dedicated Comptroller to oversee and maintain the financial health of the organization. As Comptroller, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, and the oversight of accounting processes. This is a leadership position that involves managing a team and developing internal controls to safeguard the organization’s financial assets. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership capabilities and a passion for nonprofit finance and accounting.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, with experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Prior experience in accounting, financial management, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of internal controls and audit procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Prior experience as a Comptroller, Financial Manager, or a similar role.
  • Experience in nonprofit accounting or financial management.

LSFC – Registration Clerk

Registration Clerks comprise the front line of the Registration team and are generally the first interaction that attendees experience at the convention. Registration Clerks are responsible for processing on-site attendee registrations, handling payments, and distributing convention badges and sponsor swag. Primarily a cashier position, Registration Clerks ensure smooth and accurate transactions while providing excellent customer service to attendees, vendors, and
convention staff.

Key Duties:

  • Process attendee registrations through the designated system.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure data confidentiality.
  • Provide timely, clear, and consistent responses to inquiries related to registration and other general convention details.
  • Assist in troubleshooting attendee registration issues and escalating as necessary.
  • Manage registration materials and resources as required.
  • Assist with set-up and tear-down of registration equipment.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and clean working environment.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with data entry.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skill

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with event registration systems.
  • Experience in a customer service or administrative role.
  • Experience as a Volunteer or Staff of another furry (or furry-adjacent) convention.
  • Advanced data entry and database management skills.
  • Proficiency in conflict resolution.
  • Ability to accurately handle cash and process card transactions in a fastpaced environment.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is welcome.

LSFC – Security Staff

As Security Staff at Lone Star Fur con, you will be on the lookout for fellow attendees’ safety. You will also get to build strong lasting relationships and gain security event convention experience.  

Summary of Responsibilities:

Security Staff will oversee crowd control for high traffic events, elevator congestion at peak times, patrol common spaces for the con hotel, and check badges to make sure we can support, secure attendee con-only spaces from any unauthorized individuals from entering. Afterall, this is a private event space, partners! Moreover, you will maintain presence and oversight to make sure attendees are interacting with each other in a friendly manner. We as Security Staff at Lone Star Fur Con want to de-escalate the situation.

LSFC – Panel Support

Support staff provide technical and setup support for our panelists, ensuring that transitions between panels are timely and smooth. They will help ensure schedule of panel events is adhered to as well as confirming that only age-appropriate attendees are entering 18+ panels and events. This role is part of the lifeblood of ensuring a great time is had by all of our attendees!

Key Duties:

  • Assuring panelists have the space set up according to their needs
  • Following the panel schedule to allow for smooth transition between events
  • Checking badges for age-restricted panel events

LSFC – Con Store Representative

Cashier and stocking clerk for the Lone Star Fur Con official store in the Dealer’s Den. This will involve an estimated 10-12 total hours of work through the weekend, during which you will be expected to facilitate sales of LSFC merchandise and assist with the needs of other vendors in the Den and Alley.

Key Duties:

  • Organizing and maintaining orderliness of convention store stock
  • Pulling merchandise for individual sales
  • POS/sales transaction system usage, with possible cash-handling
